Responsibilities
- Editors must diligently track scheduled dates to ensure timely publication of book chapters.
- Editors play a crucial role in shaping the book’s concept, defining the table of contents, and overseeing the quality of edited books. They thoroughly review chapters, screening for plagiarism, assessing their merit, and making decisions on their suitability for inclusion.
- To aid the publisher in producing multiple volumes of the proposed book, editors utilize “The Call for Book Chapters,” circulating the book to colleagues, students, and various platforms to garner submissions.
- Throughout the review process, editors suggest rounds of revisions, possessing the authority to accept, request major or minor revisions, or reject full chapter submissions.
- Editors diligently review all submitted manuscripts, providing constructive comments. They also contribute to writing the preface and text for online display and the back cover of the books.
- After proposing and reviewing, once the book is ready for publication, editors can recommend modifications and guide authors/co-authors through the proofreading process via the publisher.
- If an editor desires a printed copy of the published book, they are required to cover the material cost of the edited book. Editors can initiate discussions with the publisher for further details.
